Theodore was catching on, and he had caught himself, so Barty didn't feel a need to do much to acknowledge it. He still nodded it, not completely ignoring it. But the smaller a thing it was, the easier it was to adapt. And Barty wanted it to just feel natural.
And Theodore had either been going to a lot of dinner parties over time or he was a natural at making conversation. Either way, it made Barty smile - not that he ever needed help at talking. "I've cooked for myself regularly since I was twenty-one," Barty commented casually, "but Evan's the real chef." He smiled and led the way toward the dining room.
