Afton combed back his hair and Apparated to a corner that he knew of near Blaise's address. he had no idea what Blaise meant in the invitation, but Afton guessed that Blaise wouldn't have something entirely unpleasant in mind. The night was warm, and Afton enjoyed the walk, finally finding the flat and knocking on the door.

Remus set to work as soon as he wrote to Vera. He took down bowls and set the ice cream-- chocolate chip (his favorite flavour) on the counter to thaw a bit. He stood there, twirling a spoon and staring out the window, trying not to think and yet unable to keep his thoughts from making their all-too-circular rounds. Company would help, he assured himself.
