James held Lily's hand as they approached the castle. He wasn't at all sure that she could handle this, after his own reaction to what was going on inside the castle, but she had insisted that she not be left behind any longer. He tried to reassure himself that so long as they got out, they would be alright.
When they reached the castle, he looked at the map. The servants were in their rooms, and for the moment, they were alone - as far as he could tell, anyway; some of the names were unfamiliar. He tried opening the window they had entered last time with a whispered Alohomora, since that had worked for Alice last time. The window opened, and he climbed through, gesturing for the others to follow silently, one at a time.
Checking the map again, he led them into the empty, portraitless room they had been in before. "Alice," he whispered, looking for her. "Do you want to go in and get Neville? If we all go in, we'll wake them up."
