Who: Neville & Lucius Where: Lucius' Office When: Friday What: Neville is sneaking! Warnings: Some torture/punishment, hopefully..
His mother's visit seemed to have lit a fire in Neville's heart. He was sick of standing back and just letting things happen. And so when Lavender hinted at what had happened to her, he felt anger and determination spur him on. He wanted to know who had hurt her, and he wanted to punish them. It wasn't as though he had a great deal to lose.
He decided it was most likely to be one of the teachers. He couldn't think of any student who would have bothered hiding his face from his victim. It was probably someone who was married, or at least someone whose reputation would be damaged by rumours of indiscretion. So far he'd searched most of the teacher's rooms for evidence, and come up with little. It didn't help that he wasn't sure what he was looking for. He was sure that a violent attack like that would at least leave some evidence behind. It wasn't hard to get into the rooms during the day while everyone was in class and poke around.
Malfoy was next on the list. He was a less likely candidate, since he didn't sleep at the school, but he did fit all the other criteria. And luckily he was at home on sick rest, or something, so getting into his office presented no more of a problem than the teachers' rooms had. He pushed the door to behind him and started looking around. The desk was quite neat, and there wasn't a lot else to the room, so he sat behind it and started going through the drawers. He emptied piles of papers onto the desk surface, none of which looked incriminating. He had just about given up when he found a book in the bottom drawer. It was very old and the title was scuffed out, but when he opened it he found that most of the chapters were dedicated to wandless magic. His interest peaked, he started flicking through the pages.
