"Of course. You aren't a coward. I could see that about you, immediately. I don't doubt that you're willing to fight, but I want you to know that there are many opportunities out there for you. My mother wasn't a Death Eater, but she raised two children and helped financially support our family. That is also admirable. Of course, most don't aspire for that path specifically, but you catch my meaning. I'd love to have you interview for my program, but I'd also be pleased if you chose to focus your time on potions, instead." Chewing the inside of her cheek for a moment, she tried to choose a better way of expressing herself.
"You can always stop and change directions, if you choose not to be a Potions Master. Taking the mark is something that can't go away."
She left it at that. Betty, of course, wanted students who would make fine examples of what she could do. But she also knew how upset her parents were when she took the mark. She knew that she would rather a smaller number graduate and never look back, than several who blamed her for pushing them and later shamed her with a lack of loyalty and motivation.
"Anyway. You have plenty of time to think about it. There is no rush." Unless she wanted to take part in her little Death Eater club. "Soon we'll have classes starting up again, and who knows? Maybe another servant will try to blow up the Academy."
