Betty laughed softly before shaking her head. As the wine began to filter through her body, she became vaguely aware that it was nice to talk to someone about the system that wasn't as disillusioned by it as she was. Merlin, Betty wasn't even thirty yet, and already she thought it was a load of bullshite. Granted, there wasn't much she could do about it. Her life had changed for the better since taking the mark and serving the Dark Lord. Her family might be wary about what she had to do, and perhaps sometimes she had to drink a bottle of wine to get to sleep, but in the end she had to watch out for herself.
Sad, that her loyalty was only truly towards herself.
"They are disorganized. That's the main problem with the rebellion. Sure, there are probably hundreds more with the same sentiment as the Outsiders, but they lack initiative and communication. Sometimes I think it might be the main reason we're winning." She took another sip, before remembering to quickly punctuate her thought with an addendum. "Besides the Dark Lord, of course. He's brilliant."
As Pansy remarked on her feelings towards becoming a Death Eater, Betty couldn't help but smile. It mirrored how she had felt before quite well. "I felt the same way when I was your age, you know. That I was talented, but not in an area that could be very helpful. Of course, He wants his ranks to be made up of fighters, but most don't realize that the mark is, above all, a sign of unwavering loyalty. We will fight if we must, but we also bring our own talents to His table. Look at me. Yes, I can fight, but I have also have a background in journalism. We never know where our talents can take us, or how they can be used."
With a kind smile, she set her wine glass down. "Don't sell yourself short. If you want to become one of his Death Eaters, then don't give up just because you feel you lack certain skills. You can obtain these. But, if you feel like you aren't comfortable doing it, there is no shame. Plenty who have served Him have no Dark Mark. Besides, the real goal is quality, not quantity. You have time to think, still. Though, of course, if you need help, you know I'm here."
