Conveniently, Mandy had been on her way to the servant quarters to see Luna about those pillowcases. Pillowcases were actually her favorite sort of fabric, as it was soft, with malleable seams, and often came in a variety of colors and patterns. She'd be sure to make up Luna something special, for the help. Mandy enjoyed making things for her friends, if only because it took her mind off unpleasant matters - and it was nice to feel, every once in a while, as though they could still do things for each other. It made her feel less like a slave.
A black cat darted by her and Mandy froze, suddenly recalling a superstition she'd heard once... from somewhere... a Muggle motel, perhaps? She'd certainly stayed in plenty.
When Luna appeared around the same corner, Mandy's eyes immediately brightened and she smiled. "I was looking for you!" she whispered, as softly as possible. There was something about Luna that made her want to be quiet. Especially now, since the other girl appeared to be on a mission of some sort.
