WHO: Kadee Bundy and Afton MacNair WHAT: Lesson One WHEN: 21 June 1999 WHERE: Afton's room RATING/STATUS: TBD/In progress
The only downside to being exceptionally quiet was that it afforded Kadee too much time alone with her own thoughts. Many thought her simple and unintelligent, but the opposite was true, and she thought about a lot of things as she cleaned and did whatever it was she was supposed to do. Though cleaning didn't often take a lot of conscious effort, so that was a blessing, until she didn't want to think anymore, like about how she thought her silence would be a blessing to whomever she served, but apparently not. Kadee didn't feel guilty for not being the perfect little servant girl, but she dreaded the thought of whatever he would do to her to make her like he wanted her. She had to trust that everything that was happening to her was in God's plan, but sometimes it was hard to see how all of her torment could be the will of God.
But she just had to have faith and try to get through as best she could. Eventually she would be rewarded for her trust in the Lord. Until then, she cleaned and folded Afton's laundry like she was supposed to, put the clothes away, and went to find a broom to sweep.
