Barty had simply asked Lucius to excuse Theo's absence. It hadn't been too hard, and when Barty cared about Evan's health, it wasn't like he would have settled for no anyway. But he had been expecting Theo to need to stay longer. But hey! Optimistic thoughts had prevailed! Cheerful times.
Contacting Theo directly. Hmmm, journals were from one to another, but there was no way to make the other person read the note at any given time. Barty had never particularly been concerned with instantaneous communication before, as he hadn't had a reason. He ran a hand through his hair. Did he have something? Personally, of stuff he considered really his, that was a no. But there were advantages to having killed his father all those years ago. Barty hadn't touched the man's stuff much, but if there had been someone more paranoid than him, it was Crouch.
"I probably have a set of two way mirrors," Barty replied after a few moments. And even though he knew there couldn't really be a way for Theo to know - he hadn't treated it before, it was different patient to patient, he had to ask, "Is there any way to know, at all, how long it will take...for his memories to come back?"
