Who: Shaela and Susan What: Servant Gossip When: Friday evening Where: quiet spot in the dungeons (in the corridors between dormitories) Status: Incomplete Warning: TBD?
Shaela finally felt human again, clear of grime and sweat and in clean clothes for the first time in days. The lockdown had been insane, and while she appreciated the need for security, the methods certainly had left things to be desired. She'd seen several other servants brought out for questioning, though to the relief of everyone, she was sure, they all had returned, seemingly no worse for the wear.
She didn't live in the servants' quarters anymore, but there were certain things she could only do in the dungeons. Cleaning herself for one. But she would have enjoyed being away from the other servants and the tension mixed with relief. While they had all dreamed the students would be faring similarly, the answer really was that if the students got too agitated, it just rolled downhill, and they would pay the price. She'd had her share of tortures for class demonstrations, and some for personal entertainment, but then, she didn't know a servant who hadn't unless there hadn't been enough days pass. Wayne, she worried about. She wondered if the first Cruciatus would take his mind from him in shock. It wasn't a pleasant thought.
Glancing around, she found Susan and motioned with her head slightly for her to follow. There were far too many people here, even for hushed whispers. At least in the hallways, there would be less chance of being overheard. While most of Susan's secrets would likely be approved and hailed by the servants, Shaela's most recent wouldn't be.
Finding a secluded spot turned out to require two turns and three hallways, but she found one and turned to make sure she hadn't lost her friend in the process of losing extra ears.
