Theodore heard footsteps, and then the click of the lock. He waited to see if the door would open; when it didn't, he opened it himself and stepped inside, closing it behind him.
"Sir?" he said tentatively. "It's been two weeks, I was hoping..."
He trailed off, not really wanting to plead for his position back, but if he needed to apologize again or anything, he would do so. This was where he wanted to be, and he had gone to great lengths to get here; he had made a vow to himself not to do anything else to jeopardize his position.
