rp: seeing the minister Who: Remus and Peter What: A word with the prisoner When: Friday evening Where: The Ministry Warning: None really Status: Complete
Remus had lost track of the days. That wasn't difficult; he had no idea how long he had been unconscious after his transformation. He might have missed an entire day in there. So far, his own stay in the Ministry was just exactly as Sirius had described his-- little water, less food, and no visits by anyone. It was rather uncanny, how little interest the Ministry seemed to have in its rather high-profile captives. Remus had expected to be dead by now. He certainly had not expected to be let live... six days? Seven? he was, according to the Ministry, nothing more than an animal infestation. As one might put down a rapid dog or stamp out an infestation of lice, Remus ought to be dead.
When guards came for him, he therefore expected that this, after all, would be it. They would take him to some 'sanitary' facility where they'd lop off his head and so long for good old Remus, he thought. Hopefully he had better luck with it than their old Hogwarts house ghost. He thought of Nearly Headless Nick unable to join the Headless Hunt and laughed. A guard jabbed him as they bound him harder with magical cords. Remus believed it was important for one to keep one's spirits up at a time like this.
After all, it may very well be his last laugh. He's take what he could get. He did wish he could have said goodbye to Sirius, though. Sirius would be fine. Of that he had no doubt. It was the point of the thing.
Remus walked as nonchalantly as if he were on a Sunday stroll, tugged this way and that by the guards. The path they were taking seemed a strange one, though, to lead to an execution chamber. He began to wonder if that was in fact where they were going. Maybe there would be some interrogation first, after all.
Finally, they came to a door. It swung open, and Remus realized that he wasn't going to die, at least not right now.
