Kitty was watching the rain too. Neither of them could really look at each other; Kasey was trying to stay positive, and Kitty didn't want to burst out with a tirade on why leaving the country was exactly the wrong thing to do. But then, Kasey had always been less of a crusader than Kitty. And it wasn't like kidnapping her friend and stashing her at her parents' was a great plan either.

"I guess. It's about to be summer there, right?" Kitty looked down at her mug and stirred it, watching the ripples smooth themselves out. "I don't know if I can come to the airport. It's Rosh Hashanah, I might be at services." Great way to start the new year, with one of your best friends leaving the country and the hemisphere.
