Usually Alex would be at his desk throwing cards into a hat while a computer slide show ran. Everything going on recently wasn't usual, however. He was instead sitting at a desk that couldn't be seen through the stacks of folders and papers that covered it. X-Factor was currently working on lobbying Congress, acquiring safe houses, researching legal precedents, and a host of other unusual thing in preparation of October. He wasn't so busy he didn't look up when the young woman stepped in, however.
"Good morning. Terry's out, she'd usually take care of you, but this is X-Factor Investigations." Alex raised his leg to push the chair on the other side of his desk out for her, knocking the folders in the chair on the ground; that's why he kept everything stapled inside. "What can I do for you?"
