Work, clean up after John and pay bills. That was starting to feel like it was all she ever did anymore. Especially the work part, considering that the apartment didn't pay for itself and she refused to touch the quarter of a million they had stashed away unless they absolutely had to. That and she'd taken the money from Russ during her crazy phase and Rogue didn't like to dwell on that too much.
That day at the bakery had been one of the more insane ones and, as a result, aside from the normal white streaks in her hair, her hair and cheeks were also streaked with flour and she was just finishing up restocking a tray of cookies when the bell over the door rang, indicating that someone had come in.
Automatically, she started to say, "Hi, can I he--" and then cut off abruptly when she saw who it was. Well, shit. Truth be told, she hadn't entirely forgiven either of them for not being there when John was in prison, hell, she hadn't forgiven Jubilee for the crap she'd said to John either. And she was pretty sure that she wasn't on either Kasey or Kitty's good side after all the things she'd probably said when she was in that aforementioned crazy phase.
