Thread: Tommy and Postman Who; Tommy and David When; Slightly backdated, April 6th, evening Where; The small kitchen in the basement What; Tommy's upset from her whatever-it-was with Kurt, and David agreed to go try and talk to her.
Tommy just wanted to go home.
It was too much. The school was too much; people were constantly getting hurt or in battles or running off. Everyone was in their own personal chaos, and all Tommy really wanted was some peace. She'd flipped out on Kurt (not that things hadn't been tense already), running from him because he was one of them -- the kind if person in definite danger of dying or leaving her at any given moment. And she scared him. He thought she was insane.
Tommy didn't need to deal with that.
So Tommy distanced herself. She did it to Arla, too, after the Mr. Sinister incident. She couldn't handle having a friend dangle herself in harm's way like that. Best not to be friends at all, so if it did kill Arla someday, it wouldn't hurt as much. Tommy was lonely, but she was safe. She could deal with loneliness. All she wanted was to go home, back to the peace of the tunnels, back to having her entire family around her, solid and stable. To know that Callisto was watching over them at night, that Caliban and Jack and Eve were nearby.
She did the next best thing, hiding in the basement. Originally the wine cellar, it was the darkest room down there, but Tommy had moved into the kitchen when she got hungry. Sitting at the kitchen table, she carved irregular shapes out of an apple before actually eating them, needing something to occupy her hands.
