Ororo laughed just a little at his reaction. She knew he could hold down the fort, and she knew occasions when she had had him do just that. But teasing him was priceless.
"You're right," she added when the conversation went serious again. "Humans are going to be wary enough without a whole bunch of mutants trying to reorganize things. I'm perfectly happy being here right now." Whether here was the school or specifically in the lake, he could choose. The combination of the hot sun and the cold water was lovely, though, and she stretched back, letting her head lay back in the water and her hair spread out.
And, honestly, even the untouchable Windrider couldn't keep a stray eye from watching the water he put on his arms slide back down into the lake.
