Vertigo fell, but instead of landing on her back she managed to roll out of it so she didn't kill her spine----and she had her gun raised at Remy before he could move again. "Dear old Brotherhood fixed my hand and I owe 'em a couple favors. I do well enough and I get lasers. I might get a lot more, too. But that doesn't mean I don't still want to pump you full of lead. Not fair that you keep getting away. Not fair that all you do is smirk at me and make fun of me." As she talked, she stood, and her powers were kicking into gear, sending nauseating pulses into Remy's mind. "You need to be put in your place and now I've got an excuse to turn Marauder against Marauder. Boss can't be mad if we come up against one another on the battlefield, now can he?"
Well, technically, he could, and Vertigo would get destroyed if she hurt Remy like she was planning. But right now? Right now, that was her rationale.
