Thread: Shadowcat and Mercury
Who: Kitty Pryde and Cait Kincaid
When: Early afternoon, February 19th
Where: Salem Centre, The Coffee Zone
What: Cait's getting a little bit stir-crazy at the Lair, so she goes out for some fresh air, and somehow ends up in Salem, remarkably close to one Kitty Pryde. Coincidences abound.
Honestly, Cait had no idea what the fuck she was doing here. Last night (this morning?) spontaneous decision to go out and get some decent stuff to fill both her empty room and the fucking useless kitchen should have resulted in a quick here-and-back to the nearest grocery store she could find. Which wasn't too far away, wouldn't have taken too long, even with her traditionally useless sense of direction. Mutant domination had come into effect, which paradoxically both meant that Cait was free to show her skin proudly, and that she apparently also might get her ass handed to her because she was a mutant - people just hated her for different reasons.
But being in the Lair for going on two weeks with almost no one there she knew was getting a little bit difficult, and so Cait had found herself on the road again after she picked up what she wanted from the store, driving just to feel the bike under her and the wind in her face, or something like that. She'd let the roads take her kind of wherever the fuck they wanted, without paying very much attention, until suddenly Cait blinked and realized that she'd gone from random roadways to slightly trendy neighborhood-town-city-thing, and that the people she was passing didn't seem to be massively keen on her motorcycle.
Torn between her typical fuck-you to the world and the realisation that breaks were a lot easier to take when everyone wasn't trying to kick you out of town, Cait finally pulled the bike over in an unused parking space and let people have their peace. Jacket on, collar up, hair down long over her face, she projected Sullen Teenager as loudly as she could in the hopes of overpowering any sense of 'did she look odd to you?' and set to figuring out what exactly this place had to offer.
The scent of coffee caught her attention before anything else could and, with nothing better to do, Cait turned and followed her nose towards a small shop which, miracle of miracles, didn't actually seem particularly crowded. Hunching her shoulders, she went in to see how much they were charging for the same old shit.
