"Like ever ever." She shrugged helplessly. Somehow it had never quite worked out for Kitty. Part of it was living in the same building as most of the boys you knew - when you saw someone at breakfast and dinner every day and knew all their worst habits, it was hard for her to start finding them attractive. Going to college hadn't helped; she'd felt compelled to hide her mutation and never really connected with any of the boys she'd met there. Under it all she'd convinced herself that she was too busy with classes and too risk-chasing with the X-men to start a relationship. But she knew it was just an excuse.
She ducked her head when MJ called her pretty - compared to some of the girls she knew, Kitty had always thought of herself as just... okay. "Seriously. I don't know, it's never worked out."
