Aubrey squirmed a little, scrunching his shoulder as she tugged, but the kiss on his cheek seemed to settle him down. He turned, kissing her in turn. That meant thanks for coming along, thanks for being such great company, thanks for distracting me tonight, thanks for looking so damn pretty.
Right? ...Yeah? It could have meant any number of things, and while there was meaning there, there really wasn't anything to replace the exact specificity of conversation. Aubrey could understand her a lot more easily than the other way around, and while it was a novel fascinating thing for a while, how long could it really last?
That was up to Kasey. Well, no. That was up to both of them. Kasey didn't exactly communicate in his language, after all.
He took her hand and squeezed it, turning to look at her. She really was beautiful, even if she was afraid to show herself in public. Blue and slightly glittery, almost... sure, she was beautiful (and normal) with the inducer on, and sometimes her true appearance really did throw Aubrey for a loop... because what would his mom say if she knew what Kasey really looked like? But at times like this, he could really appreciate it.
