That seemed to sober Peter up a bit, and he pressed his lips together, nodding. "I know how that is, too." He had, after all, gone to painful lengths to keep other people safe. Peter could definitely respect that.
Leaning against one of the tables, Peter made a face, almost habitually rubbing his arm near his elbow. He wasn't in as much pain as usual, but it was still tender. "I'm just glad you're home," he admitted. "I'd rather keep friends closer than enemies right now, you know what I mean?" Especially when Peter wasn't totally sure who the enemy was.
