A lot of pain really did mess with his concentration, but Alex figured that was true of everyone. Well maybe not the Sheriff, since he had seen that man fall from a great height and just get up and keep going like nothing had happened. But still, when his ability to be seen depended on having a clear head, well pain didn't help at all. A simple nod of his head was the young man's only real reply to being told not to go anywhere. Thought it wasn't like he had plans on leaving till he was patched up anyways.
When she returned his gazed drifted back over to San, and he smiled a little at her suggestion. "Sounds cool to me." The sight of the needle had Baker frowning again, yet he trusted the doc to know what she was doing. Oh he giggled briefly as the cotton ball tickled his arm, but that tiny gasp was heard when San stuck him with the needle. However when she was done at last, and rested her hand on his arm, a warmth was felt slowly moving through his body. Whatever was in that needle was nice. Real nice. The question of his name gave Alex pause, and when he realized she hadn't heard him before the young man just sighed and repeated himself again. "I'm Alex, but people just tend to call em Ghost. What's your name?" A feeling of lightheadedness crept up on Baker slowly, but after a few moments that bit of morphine had the pain going away...only to be replaced with a high he had never felt before.
Oh he drank a bit from time to time, but beyond that Alex really hadn't done anything else. So as the narcotics drifted through his bloodstream a cheesy grin spread across his busted lips. Without even meaning to his focus drifted, as the sound of gentle waves washed through his mind...only soon the sound wasn't just in his head, but all around them both. By accident his other ability just took hold, and the shadows consumed the two of them, only to end up teleporting the doctor and the young man both to his favorite private beach. There in the shade of the trees, now sitting on a comfy chair, Alex opened his eyes and smiled anew as he found himself looking out at the crystal clear ocean stretching out before them both.
