Since the day he had first arrived in town a few years ago John Kayden hadn't ever even laid so much as a pinkie on any of the residents at all. Sure he was large, and intimidating, but the man had done his best to lend a hand in keeping everyone safe. Still apparently his grizzly method of handling raiders who tried to attack the town had left the Sheriff with a reputation for being downright savage. That rep wasn't bad when it came to discouraging bandits from thinking Carter was an easy mark...but it did tend to have more then a few citizens of the small settlement always giving Bear a wide berth.
Just seeing the lack of fear in the young woman's eyes actually made things a bit more comfortable for him. That and the fact that the two of them had shared some heated moments too. So when she joked about being a cartoon character the mountain of a man chuckled warmly, and even flashed her a little brighter smile. "Well I suppose there's no harm in letting ya have a sample, it you were so inclined, San." When she remarked on the haul the Sheriff nodded in agreement, slowly standing at last and moving to check the grill before chiming in again. "It wasn't bad. Put down a feral pack that had been giving our scavengers a little trouble, and figured waste not want not."
