Who: Lily & Open What: Roaming the Elementary School/Lily's Greenhouse Where: Carter Elementary School When: Anytime Friday Warning: TBD Status: Open and In Progress
The 'cactus queen of Carter' was a bit of an oddity among the townsfolk. Oh she was harmless enough, and did her best to stay out the way of others as well. Still the shy young woman rarely spoke to anyone; and stranger yet was the fact that she was always giggling and whispering to the plants around town. In truth Lily doubted the people of Carter would have even bothered letting her stay at all when she first arrived, having wandered in from the desert where she had lived on her own for a few years. However Lisa had a genuine gift when it came to dealing with plants, and when her abilities were noticed by a few of the locals her reception had become somewhat warmer.
The blonde was odd, and likely missing a few marbles, but being able to create and grow plants; fruits, veggies, herbs, and flowers alike...it was the type of gift that could help provide for the town during leaner times. The old run down elementary school had been offered to Lily, as a place she could use and convert into a greenhouse of sorts. And over the last two years the school had certainly become something of an oddity just like the girl who disappeared into the building for days on end. Few folks even bothered setting foot inside those overgrown hallways, expect when it was time to collect whatever produce Lily had managed to coax to life. The classrooms themselves had been left in complete disarray, yet the walls held all manner of vegetables hanging there in various stages of growth. In the bricked/walled up courtyard Lily's cactus garden was always in bloom. The girl loved those spiky plants, and when it came time to dine the little vegan gardener always seemed to manage to bring some manner of tasty dish along.
In the basement Robert's spent her time too. When the sun was at it's peak, and the heat outside grew neigh unbearable, she savored the dark coolness of the space. Wiggling her toes in the rich dark earth that covered the floor, singing and giggling with her hundreds of little babies. So many tiny mushrooms singing and giggling back (in her mind alone), and keeping Lily company until the worst of the heat had finally passed. Oh it was so easy to lose track of time; so easy to grow lost enjoying the conversations with all of her creations. Still when her tummy rumbled at last with hunger Lisa would finally slip back upstairs, heading to the room of jars to decide what herbs she'd use for the meal she'd make. The little library, turned stock room for the jars, was always so quiet. No whispers, no living plants calling to Lily. Oh she knew how important it was to have a place like this, and traded/bartered a fair price for empty jars and containers. Still with a touch of haste she'd make a selection before scampering to the kitchen to begin working on a little snack...and flashing a sweet smile at the hanging potted plants when they reminded her about the town shared meal tomorrow. That smile grew brighter as the young woman reached out to gentle caress the herb plants in the windowsill, and when Lily began to prepare a dish for the town meal the blonde began to sing once more.
