RP: Ron and Draco have dinner
Date: 30 September 1999 Characters: Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy Location: Giovanni's, Muggle London Warnings: Possible violence. This is Ron and Draco in the same room, after all Summary: Ron and Draco attempt to resolve their differences. Ha. Status: Incomplete Open/Closed: Closed
Ron Weasley hated Draco Malfoy, and Draco Malfoy hated Ron Weasley, and that's the way things were, and quite frankly, Ron was just fine with it. And there had never been a moment when things could have gone another way. Ron still remembered that day on the Hogwarts Express when Malfoy offered the hand of friendship to Harry - and looked down on Ron like a piece of vermin.
Ron couldn't count the number of times Malfoy had gone out of his way to make life more difficult for he, Harry, and Hermione. Sometimes "Weasley is Our King" still rang through his nightmares. And of course, who could forget that Malfoy helped Death Eaters enter the school, which ended up scarring Bill for life and killing Dumbledore? Nor could he forget the time he was trapped in Malfoy's house.
And now! Now Harry decided to become chummy with Malfoy because Harry was a naive idiot who relentlessly saw the good in people, even when it wasn't really there. Ron suspected that Malfoy was in love with Harry, and so, he was trying to make nice with Ron to show what a good guy he was. Ron wasn't fooled. Ron had agreed to this dinner (in Muggle London... ha!) because he knew it'd make Harry happy, and Ron would be able to say he'd tried... but that was it. He didn't expect much. He remembered the late, great, Mad-Eye Moody (one of his role models) who wouldn't trust Malfoy ever. Ron had to remember that.
And so, he made sure he wasn't on time. He was, in fact, fashionably late. Being the first to arrive would show weakness. He entered Giovanni's, thinking about the things he did to make Harry happy, and looked around.
