It had been another long day of Auror training, after a weekend spent safely in Blaise's manor. Unable to fall asleep just yet, and not quite so willingly to fall asleep just yet, Draco took to wandering Diagon Alley. The blonde paused in front of the Quidditch shoppe as he recalled his conversation with Ginny not so long ago, and he smiled tiredly. If only life could be that simple again, even if it wasn't all that long ago.
He entered the coffee shoppe--ironically, the same one that had started him down this path with Harry just before Auror training had begun--and ordered a cafe mocha, coupled of course with caramel and whipped cream. He'd turned round, taking a few solid steps toward the door, until a spot of flaming red hair caught his attention. Gray eyes narrowed for just a moment as Draco caught sight of none other then...well, his girlfriend, as she was right now. She was wrapped up in a book, that much Draco knew just from seeing her hovered over a cup with her eyes glued to the pages before her. It would be so easy to turn round and ignore the fact that he'd even seen her, but he'd been doing that for far too long. He had to tell her. Lately, he'd been pulled in so many different directions it felt like he was being ripped apart from the inside out. It was time to put that to an end, Draco knew. And he knew one way to do just that, so that he could regain some grounding in his life--something he'd been lacking since he'd started his Auror training.
"Ginny," Draco stated firmly as he hoped to catch her attention, striding the few steps of distance so that he stood just beside her at the table. There was a polite smile on his features, but he didn't bend down to kiss her in greeting as he probably would have in any normal situation.
