"Someone had to redeem the Malfoy name," retorted Draco suddenly, giving Pansy a dark look at that. "Being an Auror was the easiest way to do just that." He rolled his eyes wearily. "I could see what I can do, about maybe getting a few days off, actually. Kingsley's seen me around the Weasleys pretty much day in and day out recently and Merlin knows their his precious pets." He smiled lightly. "We'll see."
"I could always ease the difference and accept any bid your family would put in for me, Panse," he flirted teasingly, chuckling as he said it. He knew Pansy didn't really like him that way, of course, but it was still better then being stuck with someone like Goyle. "At least we'd be friends, and you wouldn't be stuck marrying some complete dolt."
