Neville wiped his hands on the dishtowel and surveyed the meal he had made. Well, he had warmed it up, and that had to count for something, right? It was a lovely shepherd's pie his Gram had sent over. He had set the table in the dining room with real plates and silverware. Every other time Hannah had come over, they'd had take away, and he wanted to impress her that he could do more than order out.
Hannah was simply the most brilliant thing that had ever happened to him. He loved her smile and her laugh. She gave him a reason to do something besides work all the time. He loved taking her to lunch and loved when she was at his flat. He wished she never had to leave.
He was about to get the cheesecake he had purchased from the bakery from the oven when he heard a knock at the door. He smiled to himself. She was here. Sometimes he couldn't quite believe she really was here.
He rushed to the door, stumbling over the edge of the rug and almost face planting into the door. He managed to get it open, and beamed at her. "Hey... I missed you."
