He stood at the window and watched the sunlight gleaming in her shining hair. She was glorious and beautiful and enchanting and oh so very many other wonderful things that even his Ravenclaw mind could not innumerate no matter how many times he made the attempt.
It had taken loving her to make him realize that not all answers could be found in numbers and equations.
He watched her hand move to press firmly against her rounded belly and knew from her smile that the baby was moving again. He could no more resist that smile than he could the insistent tug of Eury's teeth on his trouser cuff. Putting aside his almost forgotten quill and parchment, he went outside to join his golden wife, his heart, his hope, his reason to keep fighting the curse that threatened every day to drag him away from the light.
What better reason was there to find your way home at the end of every day than love?
