James snorted. "You'd have managed just fine. You're a fairly strong person, I've noticed." But her tone was fond, and she was smiling a bit more indulgently than she normally allowed herself to do.
Stretching herself out along the length of him like a cat, James yawned again. This was too comfortable of a position; she was giving in to the sleepy feeling that had been threatening to overtake her all morning.
"I thought you might, but it's nice to hear," she teased, hiding her face. This was the part that she was always terrible at; she wasn't certain she'd said those words to anyone but Lizzy since the Pete fiasco. "It's mutual, you know," she added, finding that now that the crisis had passed for the moment, the words were sticking in her throat.
