Plus, Audrey checked in with them twice a day to make sure they weren't fucking things up too badly. "The only one who wasn't fine was you."
She sank into his arms willingly, though it only made her cry harder because it was such a bloody relief to be held by him when she'd begun to think that she never would be again. Never talk to him again. Never make him laugh, or roll his eyes, or tear her clothes off again. It all would have been too goddamned tragic.
"I thought I'd lost you," she told him shakily. "I've never been so fucking scared in my life. Merlin, Will, I love you so much." She lifted her head and looked at him with wet red-rimmed eyes. "I do. I love you."
