Audrey refused to let go of his hand, so she reached for the glass of water beside his bed with her free one and held it to his lips. She let him take a long drink before she set it back down. Shifting so she was perched on the side of his bed, she ran her fingers down his cheek and looked at him with all the stupid love she felt and hadn't known she did.
"Because you'd been here for ten days," she said softly. "Do you remember the fight at the club? You were in a coma, Will." Her voice broke and a few more tears spilled down her cheeks. "They didn't know if you were ever going to wake up."
