Adrian said nothing; he simply nodded, eyes focused somewhere in the middle distance.
So it had been Yaxley, then. The bastard who had hurt his girl so deeply that he still saw it in her eyes sometimes when he touched her. The bastard who was the reason he couldn't get as close to her as he wanted, although his frustration about this was more about Lizzy not being able to have it for herself than it was about him not getting anything out of it. It was about what Yaxley had taken from her, and how long she'd been stripped of that ability to be close. The ability to sleep without drinking herself into oblivion (because he'd noticed-- it was why he always suggested they have something besides beer or wine with their dinners). Yaxley was going to pay for all of that and more.
"We all need to discuss this. Not just you and I." Geoff would want to know, for certain, but Adrian didn't feel right leaving the others out.
