Cormac eased the door open, not wanting to startle her. His heart stopped briefly at the sight of her shoulder. Clearly he was going to have to kill the bastard responsible for this, although he wasn't sure if he was more angry about her physical injuries or how shaken up she looked.
"Here, give me that," he said easily, reaching for the wound potion. He took his time gently dabbing it on, making sure that it was properly applied so that she would heal fairly quickly. "I think it's going to be all right. The guest room sheets are clean, too, so we can go back to sleep when we're done here."
He kept his voice calm and steady and soothing as he finished, brushing a light kiss over her shoulder.
