Flint nudged the non-icy intruder with his toe to roll him flat and then stooped to pull off his cowl. He eyed the obviously oriental man for a moment. "Yeah, who have you pissed off?" he drawled, cocking a pointed eyebrow at Cho. "Kin of yours, Chang?"
She gave him a cold look in return. "No. One would think that even from the lowbrow entertainment you doubtlessly prefer that you would have recognized his costume and weapons as that of a ninja." Cho sniffed at his 'so what?'. "Ninja are Japanese, not Chinese. The House of Chang does not deal with those assassins." She fluttered her hand in a throw away motion. "There was a mild falling out several centuries ago with the Koga Clan involving a sum of money and a deflowered priestess. None in my family would have hired these men for the honor's sake."
Her expression faltered and fell as the fox whispered something she did not know in her inner ear. "The House of Li, however, has an alliance with the Iga Clan. I do not know if these are shinobi no Iga or not."
"Li?" Flint prompted, "who the hell is Li?"
"My former husband is the heir of the head of family," she whispered. Surely not. Surely Angdian would not have sent murders after her after all this time.
