"Audrey!" Her voice cracked as her panic ratcheted up higher than her body could handle. Tracey had to force herself to lay back and take a few deep breaths before she hyperventilated.
"Just listen to what I am saying," she said finally, her hands clenched painfully tight around the edges of the blanket. "You cannot interfere with this. The waters are too deep and the stakes too high. Trust me, Audrey, and leave it." She knew that she was likely just making Audrey that much more curious about the things she could only hint at. If she was lucky, her cousin would write her off as a potions dealer or something and not start digging into things that could get Audrey hurt.
