Audrey couldn't help the slightly shocked expression that appeared on her face when he said that. It was a rare, rare thing when Will was willing to spend a night away from the Seedy. She'd sort of begun to suspect that there needed to be fire and brimstone--or at the very least, the LSO--involved for that to happen.
She quickly replaced the shocked expression with a faux-flattered one, pressing a hand to the center of her chest. "You'd skip out on the Seedy for a night with little old me? Careful, she's going to think you like me better."
"Mutual, yeah," Audrey breathed, grasping desperately at her brain as he did his best to send it fleeing for the hills. She scrawled a few more lines on the parchment about their employment, whistled for Persephone, and sent the owl off. Then she shifted about in his lap so she could wrap her bare legs around his waist and kiss him in a long, languid, determined manner. "Salazar," she said a long moment later, "we were stupid not to do this sooner."
