Charlie chuckled. "Believe me, if dragon keepers were analytical, I wouldn't be the one on this task. I'm happy to be the one doing it, but I'm not the sharpest when it comes to putting the pieces together," he confessed.
It occurred to him that Percy might be the one to help when it came to analyzing the data. He doubted his younger brother had any interest in dragons, but he did have a keen eye for finding problems.
"That's a good mix to have," he said when she was both nervous and excited. "I've found that you can't really be one or the other around dragons. If you're too confident, they will catch you off guard. If you're too frightened, you're going to get yourself into trouble."
He grinned at her, a bit impishly, "Don't worry, I won't let her him eat you," he promised.
The grass they had to walk through was thick and tall enough to cover their knees. "Be careful where you step," he warned. "There's likely to be field mice, and dragon dung."
