Lisa returned his smile, saying, "It was nice. I might have to make it a point to study more often. Um, in here, I mean." She blushed a bit and looked down at her feet, and when she looked back up he was already back to his runes. Lisa wanted to throw her arms up in frustration. She slid off the couch, defeated, gathering her parchment, quill and book from where she'd abandoned them on the seat, and started to leave the room.
Before she did, she turned and looked at him working, and before she even had thought it all the way through she blurted out, "Would you go to the dance with me, Tony?" Her question seemed to surprise even herself, and she stood, red faced, waiting for his answer.
