All things considered, spring hols had gotten off to a brilliant start. There had been the Twins party, Tonks' party, the Falcons game, and Vic having come home with Ginny for the duration of the break. But for all of that fun, there had been something at the back of Ginny's mind, one of those nagging feelings that something was bothering her even though she couldn't quiet work out what it was. She had almost brought it up to Victoria several times since they had gotten home, only to back out at the last minute because she was convinced her friend and roommate would just think she was being an nutter.
But the feeling hadn't gone away, just intensified as the week progressed. In a way it was ironic, since Ginny had talked to Harry about his emotional issue that had driven him to practice Wronski Feints and spend most of his waking hours on a broom, assuring him that whatever it was would pass with time only to find herself in a similar situation. So when her mum had needed some errands done, she had jumped on the task before anyone else could, explaining to Vic that she just needed a moment to think and that maybe she could explain it once she got back from Diagon.
Of course, in typical Molly Weasley fashion, she hadn't wanted Ginny to go alone but she had waved off her mum's concern, taking the shopping list and the money and hopping into the fireplace before her mum could work up a list of reasons to keep her from leaving the relative safety of the Burrow. But the shopping had long been finished, the three bags laying at Ginny's feet while she stirred the remains of her peanut butter and chocolate milkshake around in her glass.
The ice cream shop had been a spur of the moment decision, offering her a chance to simply sit and think - her eyebrows drawn together as she stared off into the distance at something only she could see.
