Lisa's heart swelled when she heard Ben's story about Bronnen. "Who could leave such a precious puppy? I'm glad she found someone wonderful to take care of her." Him calling a dog his mom was so cute she could hardly stand it. Ben was dangerous to her resolve not to read anything into anything lest she get hurt and disappointed again. Because she couldn't help it now. Her crush washed over her like a wave, and she stuck her hands in her back pockets to avoid fanning herself like a cartoon character.
She smiled at Bronnen and laughed as she chewed a shoe at Ben's promptig. "Well, next time bring her along. I just love dogs. I don't know if I could ever convince Sally-Anne to get one. I wish though. They're just so happy and full of life." She continued to watch Bronnen chew the shoe as Ben grabbed their lunch, and she perked up again when he returned. She smiled up at him widely, ready to tackle anything now. "I like a walk. And I certainly like a good view." Of course, secretly she would be mainly looking at his profile, but that was a rather good view right there.
