"I know, just think what it'll be like when you eat for two!" Duck teased, lightly tickling her stomach for a couple of playful moments. He wasn't thrown off balance by imagining what Pippa would be like pregnant, since they were both talking comfortably about the prospect of children in the future.
"Stay right here?" Duck grinned and kissed the top of her head. "It would get a bit cold. But I can promise you that we will be us, forever, even when we're old and gray and I'm losing my hearing," the conviction was strong in his voice. "I love you so much, I can't imagine being without you," he murmured, lips against her ear. "I know some people think it's crazy to say things like this when we're still teenagers, but it's true. You're the one I want to have by my side, to grow old with, to cry and laugh, and do everything with."
It occurred to Duck then that he had essentially proposed to Pippa and he chuckled, his arms pulling closer around her.
