WHO: Paulie and Theo. WHEN: Late Tuesday night (so slightly backdated!). WHERE: Theo's apartment in London. WHAT: The two need a friend to talk to. RATING: PG to PG-13ish. STATUS: Closed, in progress.
Theodore scribbled out a few more messages to friends that had written to him on the journals to check up on him, then shut it and waited to hear the buzzer that would signal Paulie's arrival. It was late - he wasn't exactly sure just how late it was, as he hadn't bothered to pay attention to the time. Nothing was really all that important at the moment. Sarah was right - he felt numb. He knew he'd feel better eventually, but for tonight he wanted to wallow a bit - which was rather unlike him - but he selfishly felt like he'd earned that right from what he'd witnessed earlier that evening.
He'd stopped and purchased a bottle of firewhiskey on the way home - which was also very unlike Theo - but once again, just for tonight, he felt like he'd earned it. So far it'd remained unopened, sitting in the middle of the coffee table that had come with the fully furnished apartment.
From the messages he'd received, he'd noted that a few of his friends were hurting, too. He'd have to make it a point to be around for everyone more, but at least he was off to a start on that tonight, by offering to listen to what was troubling Paulie.
A few moments later, he heard the buzzer sound and he went over to buzz Paulie on up to his apartment. "Hey, Paulie," he spoke through the intercom, "I'm on the second floor, the door to the right of the landing."
