If someone had told Bill one week ago - the day before he'd had Tonks over for dinner with him and Charlie last Friday evening - that he would find himself sharing a shower with her in a week's time, he would have had no shame in telling them that they were bloody mental and would have even offered to help them get to St. Mungo's to have their head checked for any sort of past spell damage. That ship had sailed years ago and he'd lost his chance, or so he thought, when he ran off to Egypt after graduation.
As it turned out, he'd just been exceptionally foolish on the matter and had ignored the signs that had been there all along in her letters. When she'd shown up for dinner on Friday night, the feelings he'd thought had long since been put to rest in the past came back with startling clarity and he knew he'd been lying to himself over the last nine years.
The important thing was that they'd found their way back to each other and had more than made up for lost time over the course of the past five days. There, of course, had been lots of sex as it seemed like they really couldn't keep their hands to themselves (though maybe they weren't really trying that hard to do so), but there had also been serious conversations. He'd sorely missed being able to speak with someone in the way they were able to speak with each other. Charlie was his best mate, sure, but Tonks had always been the one person that he allowed in, that he never tried to hide anything from out of his desire to protect his family. She knew him completely.
Surprisingly, his shoulder hadn't really bothered him at all since she walked back into his life - though he knew it was foolish to think the curse had gone away completely, they still had to find the counter curse first. It did seem to be directly linked to his mood, but he'd have to go into St. Mungo's for an official assessment.
Bill was fairly certain neither of them had been fooled by the thought that they'd just be showering together that morning. She'd been right about them being better together with a little experience under their belts - not that it was bad when they were back in school, but he'd certainly learned a thing or two since then. This morning in the shower had been no different and he was actually contemplating taking a cold shower to calm himself down after they were done.
He chuckled softly at what Tonks had to say when it was over, a mischievous look appearing on his face as he ran his hands down her arms. "So are you," he murmured, still almost unable to wrap his mind around it all. "Oh? Not even if I stop by during lunch and drag you away for a little bit?"
