WHO: Simon Summerby and Chris Stebbins WHEN: Saturday, after 9pm WHERE: Cornwall, the Branstone's B&B WHAT: After the drama, Simon wants to talk to Chris face to face. RATING: PG - may go higher depending STATUS: in progress
As soon as he finished writing to Chris in his journal, Simon left his house and headed for the train station. His parents were overseas for a few days so there was no one to tell about his absence, although he left a note for the housekeeper. All he took with him was a backpack with some necessities, since he didn't expect to be back until the morning.
It was a bit impulsive rushing off to Cornwall, but Simon didn't like not being able to speak to his boyfriend in person when they'd had what was really their first disagreement. Even if Chris had said he hadn't done anything wrong, and Simon didn't feel he had, the incident over the journals had caused friction and he didn't like just pretending it hadn't happened and not talking about it. Because that's what couples should do, right? They talked and sorted out the issues, they didn't let them stew and grow.
The train trip was going to take around four hours and that gave Simon some time to think about what had happened and what to do about it. He hoped Megan seeing Chris would help calm his boyfriend down. What Simon didn't want to see was Chris retreating into his shell and thinking he was a screw-up once again. Mistakes were something everyone made, the thing was to learn and grow from them, that's what Simon had always been told and he believed it.
It was late when the train arrived at the station and Simon had dozed for a bit during the ride. He found a local pub and settled in to wait for Chris' message. Once that was received, he left the pub and apparated to a spot not too far from the Branstone's and walked the rest of the way. Taking a deep breath before he entered, Simon then walked quickly up the steps and inside. He didn't know where Chris would be, but he was hoping he'd be easy to find - and then he saw Chris at the front desk.
