"To be honest, I use to fall down in them a lot more. Then one day I decided I was sick of being afraid of them, so I bought 5 inch heels and walked around my cottage for three hours in them until they were nothing. I conquered those heels," Meaghan said, like she was speaking of a battle. "Of course, I had blisters for a week and couldn't wear heels for a while, but that's neither here nor there." This was getting easier. She liked being able to laugh at her ridiculousness, it gave her something familiar to hold on to.
She listened to his description of dragons with rapt attention, moistening her own lips in an unconscious mirror of his actions. "A bit like me, right?" she said in deadpan, before wrinkling her nose in her laughter. "Oh Godric, even I couldn't keep that up. I don't think baby birds are intimidated by me. Unless they are on pitch, and then those birds are going down!"
