WHO: Oliver and Jessica
WHEN: Wednesday evening
WHERE: Her place
WHAT: Processing everything
RATING: Unknown. Probably not too high. Maybe. Proceed with caution?
STATUS: Closed. Completed.
In some ways, it was nice to just be alone. Jessica had spent the previous night holding tightly to Oliver, as though he might decide to disappear into thin air in some ridiculous act of chivalry, trying to restore things back to the way they'd been.
It hurt to lose her spot on the team. It hurt worse that it was because of something stupid and petty. She'd played it cool - or so she liked to think - brushing it off as fate or a positive move. In reality, it took a lot of effort not to dissolve into hysterics.
Being alone let her just unload. It felt good.
Even alone, she had the bathroom door locked and she was perched on the edge of the tub, her face in her hands and sucking shaky breaths in between her palms. She froze as she heard sounds from the front room and sat up, wiping her eyes with the heels of her hands.
She wasn't sure if she was more excited for Oliver's company, or if she dreaded it, considering the state she was in.
