WHO: Isabel Moon and Rolf Scamander.
WHEN: The mid-morning hours of Tuesday, May 28.
WHERE: Foxglove.
WHAT: Conversation, cupcake-eating, etc.
RATING: G/PG.
Half past nine and already the glass display that normally held her Ease cakes was empty. Chocolate, vanilla-- even the less popular lemon, gone. One could attribute it to the approaching OWL and NEWT exams, Isabel supposed, but it was difficult to deny that whenever the Minister announced a proclamation or gave a speech, demand intensified. "Well," she spoke to a momentarily-empty shop, "we've still got your siblings to sell, haven't we?"
She swept a damp cloth over the keys of the bronze cash register-- a gift from Zacharias, successfully intended to tickle her fancy for unusual things-- until they shone again. She tidied the Muggle crayons she'd set out for a small customer, then looked up at the tremor and chime of the opening door.
