Who: Rose & Steve What: Riding lessons & Steve opens up a bit Where: Steve's house / the woods surrounding it When: Wednesday morning and into the afternoon Rating: Low-ish
Steve had never really been one to refuse people when they asked of him. The interest in his horses actually had him interested. Both Rose and Lavender had now asked him about learning how to ride. Maybe he should get into lessons for money, instead of worrying about the store. It was a useful skill, and he could always venture into the muggle market. He'd had to find another location, but finding a stable probably wouldn't be too hard. The air was crisp this morning, but Steve knew it would warm up.
Teaching someone so green had been a bit challenging at first. Steve had been awkward and shy, but quickly took on another persona when he stood in the middle of the paddock and watched Rose. Just like hunting, he could separate his emotions from what needed to be done. So long as he was instructing, Steve could teach Rose how to ride. It was all basics today, anyways. He wasn't about to get her cantering or jumping just yet. A bit of trotting here and there, but mostly just walking and practising how to manoeuvre her legs, and how to manoeuvre the horse with her legs.
After what felt like hours in the paddock, Steve suggested a trail ride. Rose was riding a chestnut mare named SlĂ inte who preferred the woods. It was a more pleasant way to learn how to ride, anyways. Within moments, Steve had his own horse tacked up and the pair were off and into the wilderness. After forty-five minutes or so, Steve emerged into a meadow and hopped off his mount. "Stop to eat?" he suggested, before looking down at his forearm and hesitating. "I... have something to show you."
